Good afternoon church! If anyone is still interested in getting water baptized on June 23rd, we are having our class covering water baptism tomorrow at 8:15am in the GT kids church! See you then!
Wow! I attended GTCC's Special Needs Ministry Workshop last night and learned so much! Thank you Tony and Amy-Beth Vasconcelos for bringing this much needed information to our church. It was also heartening to hear we are already doing a good job of loving on people with diverse needs. Luke 14:13-14 tells us to "Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind and lame...". I learned that people affected by disability are the largest unreached people group in New England! We are a hospitable church, but learned some great tips on disability etiquette that will enable us to be more aware of one another's needs. "For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be." Psalm 139:13-16 The LORD tells us that every life is precious and it is our job as believers to honor Christ by reaching out to ALL people with the Gospel message. Amen!

"Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to CONTEND FOR THE FAITH that was once for all entrusted to the saints." Jude 3 Jude is writing to believers in the LORD Jesus Christ. He wanted to talk about our glorious salvation, but because of what was happening in the church Jude felt compelled instead to urge God's people to CONTEND FOR THE FAITH. Godless men had slipped in and were teaching that grace was a license to live immorally. Jude lays out their wicked teachings in this short book and calls us to persevere in the truth of God's Word! How can we stand against the onslaught of darkness in the world? We can shine like lights in the dark days ahead as we "build ourselves up in the MOST HOLY FAITH and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep ourselves in God's love as we wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring us to eternal life" (Jude 20-21). As we wait, we must CONTEND! Pray, read and believe God's Word, attend church, fellowship with other believers to build each other up, and witness to what the Lord has done in your own life. We have power to not only overcome, but despite what is going on around us, to be more than conquerors! "To HIM who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy-- to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen" (Jude 24-25).
THIS. SUNDAY. I am getting increasingly pumped for our takeover service! We've got all sorts of things to showcase and Youth to brag about! And I have a Word to share about our youth's (and maybe even YOUR) identity in Christ! You sincerely don't wanna miss it! Truth has become so subjective in our day. Because someone chooses not to believe truth, it does not make that truth a lie. "The LORD is truthful; He can be trusted" Psalm 33:4. So how can we know the truths of God? God did not leave us alone to figure out the truth, but gave us His Word, the Bible to tell us the truth. Jesus, God's Son, showed us truth by how He lived and His words. Jesus told us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" John 14:6. A devotional I'm reading says, "The world is full of darkness and confusion. God's enemies would have us believe there is no such thing as absolute truth, no difference between right and wrong. But God's Word tells us otherwise. GOD'S WORD BRINGS FREEDOM to our lives that in turn produces joy!" Oh brother, sister, BELIEVE the truths of God's Word and be set free! "Invest in truth and wisdom, discipline and good sense, and don't part with them" Proverbs 23:23.
